General Dentistry

General dentistry services include hygiene appointments (teeth cleanings), sealants, fluoride treatment and space maintainers. Along with regular brushing and flossing, each of these services will help prevent dental disease. Everyone should schedule a visit to the dentist for a hygiene appointment every six months. Dr. Eric Newhouse may recommend more or less frequent based on many factors including the patient’s age, lifestyle, risk factors, and general oral and dental health.

Once your baby’s first teeth appear and prior to their first birthday, we offer an infant oral examination that assesses the health of your baby’s mouth and helps you develop a daily program of good oral hygiene. It’s important to begin preventing cavities and gum disease at a young age.

Children’s teeth need regular dental cleaning and examination. We typically recommend that children visit their dentist every 6 months. Your Dentist may also recommend fluoride treatments and sealants as preventive measures.

For adults and seniors, regular dental cleaning and examination is important to the health of your teeth and gums, and to your overall health. Your dentist will recommend the appropriate frequency of visits based on your needs. Most patients visit their dentist twice a year.
